How We Help You Collect Your Debt in Toronto and Across Ontario
The Process
Say you loan Frank $10,000. After the repayment due date, you write several demand letters to Frank, all of which are ignored, and you don't know what to do. Simply contact Lawyer Letter.ca and ask us to write Frank a letter of demand on our intimidating letterhead giving him a set deadline to pay the debt. The Lawyer Letter is a "without prejudice" letter, meaning the information shared at this stage of the process can only be introduced in a court of law with your consent.
"The Lawyer Letter is without prejudice. Nothing written can be used against you without your consent."
We understand your time is precious and therefore you need to simply forward the essential information by filling out the Confidential, Free Consultation Form, after which you will receive an immediate response from one of our Ontario debt collection attorneys. Alternatively, you may simply call 1-866-491-5833 x 3 and leave a message. Either way, once your information is processed, LawyerLetter.ca proceeds to mail the lawyer letter to the debtor, usually allowing about a week for the debtor to respond. Often, the debtor will simply pay the debt outright or contact you or us to settle the dispute.
Our Rates
We offer a standard fixed, flat rate for our lawyer letters, the price depending on the nature of the claim. We tailor our rates to suit a particular debt collection or enforcement file.
"We will never charge expensive hourly rates and You can claim Your costs back In court."
Depending on a variety of factors and not just the chances of recovering the debt, we will sometimes take a matter on contingency, meaning, we will not be paid for our demand letter up front, but we will receive a percentage of all monies collected in the event we recover the debt.
But What Happens If The Debt Remains Unpaid?
Sometimes a debtor will avoid paying his or her debt even after receiving the lawyer letter. But LawyerLetter.ca's services do not end there. In such instance, and only upon your specific instructions, Lawyer Letter.ca will refer your file to one of its networked Ontario attorneys or paralegals - it's your choice - to give you his or her candid legal opinion as to your legal rights and chances at successful debt recovery. Because the letter is without prejudice, you are under no obligation to sue for your debt recovery. If you do, sue, however, you may claim back the cost of the lawyer letter as legal fees. |
